About NCAPS and Faculty
The New Center for Advanced
Psychotherapy Studies was established in 2006 as a learning program for
licensed clinicians from all training and theoretical backgrounds to learn
together without geographic limitations. NCAPS brings together
professionals from all different "schools of thought" to learn
dynamcially.
NCAPS belives
in the ethical mandate and deep value of continuous study of self and
practice through supervision, peer consultation, courses and
discussions. Through talking and consulting with colleagues,
clinicians increase satisfaction in both personal and professional lives.
Groups and courses focus on assuring that each participant's
needs get understood and met. Instructors and
group facilitators take a warm interested approach that
fosters forward thinking discussions.
Our
purpose is to enhance the knowledge
and practices of advanced psychotherapists through both experiential
learning and course work with regard to all treatment
orientations or ideologies. The exchange of
ideas is stimulating, expansive and fun!
NCAPS offers a variety of educational programs
on the theory, practice and integration of psychoanalytically-oriented
psychotherapy, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Object Relations approaches in
order to promote and support the personal and professional growth and
advanced practice building, of clinicians who are continuously interested
in deepening their knowledge and work.
NCAPS offers a variety of courses and facilitated
clinical
discussion supervision groups via
telephone
. Educational
experiences are characterized by discussion, study and inquiry, with
awareness and sensitivity to the many levels and complexities inherent in
each student’s personal, professional and life experiences.
