Supervision Groups -- scroll down for times and fees (all courses and groups
meet via
telephone
)
Qualified therapists
from different parts of the country meet on the phone for an hour once a
week to consult about all the issues that go into doing the work
that psychotherapists do. Everything pertaining to
treatment and practice from fees, to clinical issues is fair game.
Everyone is encouraged to take part of the talking
time.
Facilitated group work focuses on
assuring that each participant's needs get understood and
met. Facilitators take a warm interested approach that
fosters forward thinking discussions.
Clinicians come from
all different training orientations and are united by a
common denominator: they all want to
learn from each other. Therapists present cases for discussion and
other topics such as fees, difficult clients, treatment approaches, money,
practice-building, marketing and all thoughts and feelings that come up in the
course of the work.
The group models
and discusses techniques and theories, focuses on experiential
learning, and the exchange of ideas among colleagues.
The group studies resistance, group process, the clinician’s
countertransference issues, induced feelings, and treatment
dynamics.
Special attention is given to each clinicians’ unique interests and
learning objectives.
Clinicians are
encouraged to share their own expertise, and ideas, and to present cases
and issues.
